Warehouse and logistics

Long conveyors, automated storage and access gates

Automated warehouses have a particularity that completely changes the safety approach: distances. A 200-metre conveyor cannot be protected with fixed emergency stop buttons — the operator would have to run dozens of metres to reach the nearest one.

Rope pull switches solve exactly this problem. A single GLHD series device covers up to 125 metres on each side, meaning 250 metres with a dual head. The rope can be actuated from any point, and the system simultaneously monitors rope tension and integrity — if it breaks or slackens, the machine stops.

For systems with many devices in series, the Z-Range maintains SIL 3 and PLe even when connecting up to 30 units. Internal self-monitoring and OSSD outputs eliminate the performance level degradation that occurs when mechanical contacts are wired in series.
