Assembly lines, robotic cells and presses

Automotive assembly lines combine high-speed robots, presses and conveyors in a space where operators intervene frequently for loading, adjustment or troubleshooting. Every access point must be protected without slowing production — a trade-off between safety and availability resolved by choosing the right devices.

Solenoid-controlled guard locking keeps guards closed while hazardous motion or stored energy remains. In robotic cells, where run-down time can exceed ten seconds, Type 4 locking with RFID coding prevents premature access and resists tampering.

Network integration via PROFIsafe or CIP Safety significantly reduces wiring and, more importantly, allows immediate identification of the device that triggered a stop. On a line with dozens of access points, fast diagnostics means minutes saved on every intervention.
